Education Program in Cancer Care (EPICC)

The EPICC multidisciplinary groups of experts on both the Steering Committee and Working Group were established to develop a national cancer education program for non-cancer specialist medical practitioners, especially those in rural and remote areas, with the aim to improve cancer management throughout Australia. The project was funded by Cancer Australia.

This working party was established to address the need to re-vamp Trainees’ Guide to Medical Oncology which was launched in 2009. 
 

Pharmacology Working Party

This group was established to develop an educational module in pharmacology for advanced trainees in medical oncology over 2007-2009.
   

Enhancing Palliation in Patients with Advanced Cancer in Rural and Remote Areas of Australia

The Management and Advisory committees were established to develop and implement an online educational learning program for general practitioners in rural and remote areas of Australia through funding from the Federal Department of Health and Ageing as well as Hospital Pty Ltd.
 

Ethics Sub-committee

This committee addresses specific Ethics issues, develops associated MOGA policies and provides ethics advice to the Association on an ad hoc basis. Once a year this committee reviews other issues which may need to be considered.
 

Professional Standards Sub-committee

This committee develops MOGA policy issues, position statements and issue responses on professional standards commencing with Guidelines for the prescribing of oral chemotherapy.
