  1. HOTT Fellowship Awards

    Roche Oncology & Haematology in conjunction with COSA, MOGA and HSANZ is delighted to announce that two new HOTT Fellowship Awards of $50000AUD each will be available in the first quarter of 2009.

  2. Victorian Cancer Agency Early Career Bench and Bedside Collaboration Awards and Grants

    The purpose of the Early Career Bench and Bedside Collaboration Awards and Grants is to recognise collaborations between early career professionals conducting cancer research and to strengthen professional research partnerships towards the translation of cancer research into practice.

  3. GlaxoSmithKline Australia Trainee Travel Awards
    2008 Australia and New Zealand Joint Scientific Meeting
    The future of oncology…improving lives affected by cancer
    Supported by the European Society for Medical Oncology

    MOGA and GlaxoSmithKline Australia have joined forces to introduce a major new initiative to assist Australian Medical Oncology trainees to attend the 2008 Joint Australia and New Zealand Scientific Meeting to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand from 6-9 August, incorporating the Trainees Day.

  4. MOGA-Ipsen Trainee Travel Award 2008.
    This award, generously supported by Ipsen Pty Ltd, will provide $3,500 for the successful recipient to attend a major European oncology meeting in 2008.

  5. Schering-Plough Hubert Stuerzl Memorial Educational Award 2008
    This award will provide up to $15,000 for the successful recipient to attend a major international neuro-oncology meeting (eg SNO, EANO, Perspectives in Neuro-Oncology) and undertake a preceptorship in neuro-oncology during 2008/09. All medical oncology, radiation oncology and neuro-oncology advanced trainees are encouraged to apply.

  6. MOGA-Roche Australia Travel Grants 2008 - closed
    Congratulations to Dr Amanda Townsend, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woodville, South Australia and Dr Morteza Aghmesheh, Wollongong Hospital, Wollongong, New South Wales as the recipients of the MOGA-Roche Australia Travel Grants for 2007.

  7. Royal Australasian College of Physicians’ Aboriginal and Torres
    Strait Islander Trainee Scholarship
    The RACP has established a new fund to support Aboriginal and Torres
    Strait Islander Trainees.  The trainee will receive $6,000 a year, per
    year of training and must be working in an accredited hospital or
    alternate training facility, or within another approved training
    program.

    Applications will close on 30 April, 2008. Information about the
    scholarship and application process is available through the Foundation

    The RACP Research and Education Foundation has a long history of
    support for developing young clinical researchers in the medical
    research industry in Australia in addition to supporting educational
    initiatives and programs. In 2006/07 over $1.7 million was provided in
    support.

  8. Cancer Achievement Award 2007
    MOGA has joined with Novartis Oncology to provide this award recognising outstanding Australian contributions and achievement to cancer research or control. The aim of this award is to formally recognise and publicise the contributions made by scientists, clinicians and/or other health care professional to the scientific study of cancer and/or to the control of cancer in Australia.

    2007 Cancer Achievement Award
    Winner: Prof Michael Friedlander
    The Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) is pleased to announce that Professor Michael Friedlander, Director of the Department of Medical Oncology at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital, has been awarded the Medical Oncology Group of Australia-Novartis Oncology Cancer Achievement Award 2007. Since 1999 this Award has been presented to a scientist, clinician or health care professional that has made an outstanding contribution to the control of cancer in Australia.
