Draft Curriculum

Please see the Draft Curriculum - last modified 13 February 2007 for advanced training in medical oncology which MOGA has prepared in collaboration with the RACP.  This curriculum is in line with the ASCO/ESMO recommendations for a global core curriculum in medical oncology.

The curriculum focuses on oncology specific knowledge and skills and is designed to be used in conjunction with the Professional Qualities Curriculum prepared by the RACP, which covers generic skills required by all physicians.  A summary of the draft Professional Qualities Curriculum is available at Professional Qualities Curriculum - last modified 5 July 2006

Please note that the RACP is currently working on assessment strategies.  Once this work is complete the assessment strategies included in the draft medical oncology curriculum may need to be reviewed.

Report on New Drug Developments in Medical Oncology 2006

The attached report (New Drug Developments in Medical Oncology - September 2006) encompasses information prepared on the basis of presentations made at the 2006 meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the foremost international conference for the presentation of new research in oncology. Members of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia's (MOGA) Register of Experts were asked to identify and provide data on the key presentations made at ASCO in their respective areas of expertise.  The information provided was then appraised by the MOGA Drug Issues Sub-committee to identify drug developments that were most likely to affect future clinical practice in medical oncology. All members of the Register of Experts and Drug Issues Sub-Committee complied with the MOGA Competing Interests Policy which requires declaration of all competing interests.
