The North West Cancer Centre, is a purpose built integrated cancer care service and provides medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology services to patients from the North West and New England regions. The day infusion suite is equipped with 12 chairs; conducts over 2400 procedures annually; with 50% growth in the past 3 years.

You will provide clinical medical oncology services to inpatients, procedural and diagnostic services in the day infusion/chemotherapy suite, privately referred outpatient clinic services, and participate equitably on the on-call roster either Medical Oncology 1:2 or General Medicine 1:15.
Community outreach services with a strong focus on the further development of telehealth in your practice is an important component of this position. You will provide regular outreach clinics (equivalent of 0.3FTE) at Armidale.
You will have the opportunity to develop collaborative and collegiate relationships with the Medical Specialist communities at Tamworth and Armidale including the primary health and General Practice community.
You will be well supported by a team of experienced colleagues with opportunities to engage with other services within the Hunter New England Cancer Network providing mentoring, peer support and professional development opportunities.

About Scientia Clinical Research Scientia Clinical Research (SCR) is the first publicly funded purpose built early phase clinical trials centre in NSW. In addition to first into human and first into patient studies the facility also supports later phase trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Our facilities are world class, and include a fully integrated electronic clinical trial management system. A unique opportunity is available for a motivated physician to join the team as a Medical Oncologist.
As a Medical Oncologist, you will provide high quality medical care and services to patients (inpatient and outpatient) with oncological and non-oncological conditions participating in clinical trials conducted by SCR in accordance with study protocols, ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and SCR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies. You will act as principal or sub-investigator for selected oncology and non-oncology studies when assigned by the Medical Director. You will work closely with a multi-functional team of doctors, scientists, clinical project managers, data managers as well as with external stakeholders.
To be successful for this position you will fulfil the following criteria:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP or equivalent) at time of employment with specialty training in Medical Oncology or having completed 2 years core training.
- Capacity to provide expertise and leadership in the areas of oncology and clinical trials across therapeutic disciplines
- Full unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (min 2 years)
- Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team (which includes clinical and non-clinical staff)
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate and build good rapport with clinical trial staff and participants; and with demonstrated experience in publishing peer-reviewed journal articles
- Flexibility to work out-side of normal business hours
- Have an interest in working with volunteers and patients across therapeutic disciplines in the conduct of clinical trials
Advanced Life Support Training
Previous experience with conducting early phase clinical trials and knowledge of the drug development process

We are currently seeking a Professor of Medicine to be responsible for the success of both the clinical and academic components of the Division of Medicine at Nepean Hospital and Sydney Medical School Nepean.
As Professor of Medicine, you will:
- show evidence of outstanding academic scholarship and achievement in addition to a strong clinical background
- have a strong track-record of sustained external research funding
- have a national and international reputation and provide mentorship for a growing research division
- be responsible for achieving clinical excellence and maintaining financial viability of the division under the direction of the Clinical Director of Medicine and in conjunction with the Director of Medical Services
- provide leadership in the development, implementation and promotion of medical programs at Nepean Hospital designed to deliver patient care that is safe, personal, coordinated and of the highest quality and value

- have demonstrated experience and knowledge of strategic planning and financial management including budgets, operations improvement, and health system development and management
- have demonstrated experience in promoting a culture that is collaborative, team oriented, and one that respects the skill sets and opinions of all faculty and staff
- hold relevant qualifications - medical degree, higher degree, FRACP, PhD.
The Professor of Medicine incorporates a substantive support package which includes a Research Assistant, Administration Assistant, and access to funding from the Sydney Medical School Foundation and Nepean Medical Research Fund. The position offers the opportunity to participate in a unique research ecosystem, with access to the research infrastructures of the Charles Perkins Centre, Brain and Mind Centre and the Professor Marie Bashir Centre as part of the academic component of the appointment. There is also scope to occupy 0.1 FTE at the University’s Camperdown Campus.
The appointment is on a full-time continuing basis, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees, and a competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of appointment.

Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community based services.
This role has the key responsibility for co-ordinating the management of oncology patients eligible for or enrolled on clinical trials within the Oncology Unit of the Alfred Hospital. This includes overseeing trial patients, their treatments and protocol specified reviews. Potential patients will be assessed for suitability and consented if appropriate in daily outpatient clinics. The role may include supervision of junior medical staff. The fellow will be expected to attend 5 outpatient clinics per week, as well as multidisciplinary meetings and weekly unit meetings. Engagement of individual research projects during the placement will be expected. Applications from two individuals for job sharing of a fellow single position will be considered if presented in a co-ordinated framework.
The placement will provide supervision, exposure and experience to enable the fellow to develop the skills, knowledge and credentials for transition into a medical oncology specialist training program or into the immediate post-FRACP phase of further career development.

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified applicant to undertake a PhD focussing on cancer survivorship. The aim of this project is to develop an evidence-based, state-wide quality framework for survivorship care. The successful applicant will receive a PhD scholarship of $30,000 p.a. tax free (up to 3 years), plus up to $8,500 to support the research and $1,500 for interstate relocation. This scholarship is funded by the Victorian Government. A/Prof Michael Jefford (medical oncologist and Director of ACSC) will be the principal supervisor.

We are seeking a medical oncologist to join our practice on a full time basis. Border Medical Oncology operates within the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. We provide cancer care to all patients regardless of their ability to access private health insurance. The practice services a regional population of approximately 250,000 people and provides outreach clinics to Wangaratta and Deniliquin. The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer contains a state of the art day ward, 30 inpatient beds and a modern Wellness Centre and is co-located on the Albury campus of Albury-Wodonga Health. A state of the art radiation oncology service is provided in the centre by Genesis Care.
The practice has an established, award winning clinical research department allowing our patients access to a broad range of clinical trials. Multidisciplinary clinics are established for common malignancies in conjunction with teleconferencing and mentoring links with metropolitan centres for the co-management of less common tumours. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to become an associate of the Border Medical Oncology practice and a VMO at Albury Base Hospital and The Border Cancer Hospital. Providing an on-call service (1 in 5 week roster) and ward rounds to the hospital are an essential component of the position. Inpatient services are supported by an advanced trainee in Medical Oncology and resident. Opportunities exist for a conjoint appointment with the University of NSW rural medical school.

The Medical Oncology Phase 1/ H&N Fellow will be in the final year of an accredited Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) training program or with a post FRACP status. They will be located within The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, St Vincent's Hospital and Garvan Institute as needed. The Fellow will be assigned to the Medical Oncology Department for the specified term and will undertake specific tasks and responsibilities both clinically in the areas of immunotherapy/ early phase trials/ H&N translational research as well as in research in the specific area of clinical or research agreed upon. The Fellow will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise junior medical officers (JMOs), research and medical students. It is also expected that the Fellow participates in the clinical meetings and teaching and be subject to training and performance reviews.
