2025 Call for Nominations - National Trainee Representative - Medical Oncology

The National Trainee Representative plays an important role in ensuring that Australian Medical Oncology Trainees have a voice on issues relating to their education and training, developments in medical oncology in Australia and the activities of their professional Association.   

The Trainee Representative represents Trainees on the MOGA Executive Committee in an ex-officio capacity and is required to participate in Executive meetings.   

This is a demanding role that requires a commitment in both time and expertise but also affords a range of opportunities to build professional skills in areas such as leadership, governance and management.  

The current Trainee Representative, Dr Gowri Shivasabesan, based in Sydney, New South Wales will complete her term this year and will be stepping down after two very productive years of service. MOGA thanks Dr Shivasabesan for her assistance with so many Trainee matters over the term of her appointment. The incoming Trainee Representative will be elected for a term of one-two years commencing in September 2025, pending their training year. 

If you wish to nominate to be the National Trainee Representative or would like to nominate a candidate, please submit the below material via the MOGA Expression of Interest Online Form 

1. Completed nomination form; 

2. A brief biography for the nominee (no more than 500 words);  

3. Headshot photo; 

4. A short statement about/from the nominee supporting the nomination (no more than 500 words). 

PLEASE NOTE - SHOULD AN ELECTION BE REQUIRED, YOUR BIOGRAPHY AND STATEMENT WILL BE USED AS PART OF THE ELECTION PROCESS.  

All nominations must be proposed and seconded by two MOGA Trainee Members. Nominees cannot propose or second their own nomination.   

Only Trainee members of MOGA are eligible to be nominated and vote for the position of National Trainee Representative. Once nominations have been received a candidate will be announced or an election will be conducted.   

Nominations must be received by COB Friday, 27 June 2025.
