Cancer Achievement Award*

MOGA and Novartis Oncology Award* recognises outstanding contributions made by scientists, clinicians and other health professionals to cancer research and control in Australia. Since 1999 this Award has been presented to 23 leaders in the field of Australian Oncology.

The Cancer Achievement Award has historically recognised and honoured the contributions made by senior scientists, clinicians, and health care professionals to the scientific study of cancer and the control of cancer in Australia.

 

Previous recipients have included distinguished oncologists such as Professor Stephen Ackland (2018), Professor Fran Boyle, AM (2013), Professor Jim Bishop (2009), Professor Michael Friedlander (2007), Professor Dick Fox (2004) and Professor Martin Tattersall (2000). 

MOGA congratulates Professor Georgina Long AO for being the recipient of the 2023 Cancer Achievement Award, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to medical oncology in Australia.

Professor M. Tattersall Heroes Award

 

Announced for the first time in 2021, this new, annual Award seeks to recognise contributions by medical oncologists that honour the spirit, courage and commitment of the late Professor Martin Tattersall AO, and his significant contributions to Medical Oncology in Australia.  

Professor Martin Tattersall AO was a giant of medical oncology, a founding member and the first chair of MOGA, who was responsible for the establishment and development of medical oncology in Australia.

2023 Award Recipient: Ms Kay Francis

Kay’s dedicated work and outstanding commitment have provided invaluable strategic management and professional guidance to MOGA over more than 2 decades, as the national professional organisation for Australian medical oncology and the profession; and, as a specialty society of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

ESMO Asia Congress 2023 | Travel Grants for Young Oncologists
