Call for Expressions of Interest- Clinical Working Group for the Cancer Patient Support Program

Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) - Clinical Working Group for the Cancer Patient Support Program

The Australia New Zealand Society for Palliative Medicine [ANZSPM] in partnership with Palliative Care Australia [PCA] have recently been awarded Commonwealth grant funding as part of the national Cancer Patient Support Program, to consider the referral relationship and potential education opportunities that may exist between oncology services and palliative medicine specialist providers.

Project Overview

Key activities include:

  1. The development of a Continuing Medical Education (CME) online program which will provide techniques and information to optimally introduce palliative care during the cancer treatment pathway. A clinical working group comprised of clinicians from each of three disciplines identified by the Commonwealth will oversee the development of CME content. These disciplines are Haematology, Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

  2. Awareness Campaign: Promoting CME content and key messages, with clinical champions presenting at conferences.
