Expressions of Interest: Oncology Drugs Working Group
28 August 2025
The Oncology Drugs Working Group, chaired by Dr Deme Karikios and Prof Christopher Steer, is one of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA)’s most active and influential Sub-Committees.
The Group regularly reviews the PBAC agenda and prepares prioritised submissions on behalf of the Australian medical oncology profession, often in collaboration with MOGA Expert Cancer Groups.
For more than a decade, the Group has driven significant change in the national regulatory system for oncology drugs and treatments, directly improving access for patients and supporting clinical practice. It has also played a central role in strengthening MOGA’s position as a national advocate for the medical oncology profession.
MOGA is now inviting expressions of interest for new members to join the Group from the last quarter of 2025, for a two-year term. This is a demanding, hands-on role involving:
Participation in quarterly PBAC meetings and other consultations (including MSAC, DIMSAC, PICO applications, and Department of Health requests).
Leading and contributing to research, submissions, position statements, and guidance materials on oncology drugs and therapeutic treatments.
How to Apply
Please submit a brief statement addressing your interest and suitability, along with a current CV, by COB Friday 31 October 2025.
For questions, please contact Dr Deme Karikios or A/Prof Christopher Steer via moga@moga.org.au.
