Introducing the New Look MOGA Leadership and Executive

At the Annual General Meeting on Friday 5 September A/Prof Melissa Eastgate (Brisbane, QLD) completed her term as MOGA Chair but will remain on the Executive in the position of past previous Chair. A/Prof James Lynam (Newcastle, NSW) accepted the position of MOGA Chair after having served as the Deputy Chair. A/Prof Lynam is also the current Chair of the Workforce, Workload and Wellbeing Committee.  

A/Prof Connie Diakos (Sydney, NSW), MOGA Education Lead and Convenor of the Breast Preceptorship and Science of Oncology, has been appointed as MOGA Deputy Chair, Dr Jenny Liu (Sydney, NSW), ACORD Executive Representative, were both successfully renominated and will continue in their roles on the Executive. 

Other continuing Executive members include Dr Jess Smith (Sydney, NSW), Incoming Treasurer, Dr Jennifer Soon (Melbourne, VIC), Oncology Drugs Working Group Member and Dr Udit Nindra (Sydney, NSW), MOGA-led National Oncology Mentorship Program. 

The Executive also welcomed three newly elected members Dr Chandra Diwakarla (Perth, WA), Dr Mark Nalder (Brisbane, QLD), co-convenor of MOGA 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting; and Prof Tim Price (Adelaide, SA).  

MOGA also extends its thanks to the following members who have concluded their terms of service: A/Prof Tim Clay (Perth, WA), previous Treasurer, Prof Phil Parente (Melbourne, VIC) and Dr Anna Mislang (Adelaide, SA). 

We also express gratitude to Dr Gowri Shivasabesan (Sydney, NSW), the National Trainee Representative, for her dedicated service over the past 2 years. 

Lastly, we are excited to welcome Dr Phil Macilwraith (Gold Coast, QLD), who has been successfully nominated as the new National Trainee Representative for his first term of office.
