About the Role
The Department of Oncology at SVHM provides a comprehensive service to in-patients, day patients and outpatients across a breadth of tumour streams. It is staffed by 4 full time and 2 sessional oncologists, and 2 advanced trainees. The Department has an active clinical research program conducting national and international clinical trials. It has strong affiliations with the University of Melbourne in its research and teaching activities. SVHM is an alliance member of the VCCC and has working relationships with external cancer and government agencies. Radiation Oncology services are provided on site by Genesis Care.
Attendance at two breast oncology outpatient clinics per week at SVHM with an option to attend the weekly Breast Multidisciplinary Meeting. The position begins mid-January 2026 and will be a 6 month fixed term contract, with a 0.2 FTE.
Delivery of a high quality, patient-oriented clinical service in the outpatient setting.
Participation in medical education and supervision in the clinic context.
Participation in Oncology research is encouraged
Contribution to departmental clinical and research meetings is encouraged.
Your Contribution
Registration as a medical practitioner without conditions, with APHRA
Must have FRACP in Medical Oncology and demonstrated experience in the management of breast cancer within a multidisciplinary care framework.
Good communication skills at a primary patient care and inter-professional level.
Strong interest in patient care, research and clinical trials
Current GCP certificate
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
