About Scientia Clinical Research

Scientia Clinical Research (SCR) is a dedicated phase 1 clinical trials unit, co-located within the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct, a collaboration between Prince of Wales Hospital and UNSW.

We focus on first into human and first into patient studies across a broad range of therapeutic areas, with a broad oncology portfolio that continues to expand and includes combination immunotherapy and targeted options.

With this growing portfolio of oncology studies, Scientia is recognised as one of the key sites for phase 1 trial delivery in Australia.

About the Role

As a Medical Oncologist, you will provide high quality medical care and services to oncology patients (inpatient and outpatient) participating in clinical trials conducted by the SCR.

You will act as principal or sub-investigator for selected oncology studies and be supported for global and local conference attendance.

You will work closely with a multi-functional team of doctors, scientists, clinical project managers, data managers as well as with external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful for this position you will fulfil the following criteria:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP or equivalent) at time of employment with specialty training in Medical Oncology or having completed 2 years core training.

  • Capacity to provide expertise and leadership in the areas of oncology and clinical trials

  • Full unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (min 2 years)

  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team (which includes clinical and non-clinical staff)

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate and build good rapport with clinical trial staff and participants

  • Availability 3 days per week minimum

  • Have an interest in working with trial participants across therapeutic disciplines in the conduct of clinical trials

Preferably:

  • Previous experience with conducting clinical trials and knowledge of the drug development process

  • Relevant GCP Training or knowledge of GCP principles
