ADVANCED COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP

RACP Offices, Sydney 25th–27th February 2026

Medical oncology, radiation oncology and palliative medicine specialists and advanced trainees. Learn strategies for effective and empathic clinician–patient communication. Over 3 days participants will have a combination of short didactics and patient-simulated consultations in a variety of settings and at multiple points in the illness trajectory.

Topics will include:

  • Fundamental skills

  • Responding to emotion

  • Delivering serious news

  • Exploring treatment options

  • Goals of care

  • Conflict and mismatch

PLACES WILL BE LIMITED TO 28 PARTICIPANTS. REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN FROM LATE SEPTEMBER 2025.
