Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service invites a visionary Head of Cancer Services and Consultant Oncologist to lead, innovate and inspire across Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN).
Your Role:
You’ll drive the development and delivery of sustainable, integrated cancer care models, ensuring the highest clinical standards and fostering a culture of teamwork, teaching, and continuous improvement. Lead a multidisciplinary team, influence health service strategy, and champion research and education initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide clinical leadership and expert oncology care
· Oversee service quality, policy compliance, and patient safety
· Collaborate across medical, allied health, and community sectors
· Mentor and support junior staff and trainees
· Drive continuous service improvement and research participation
What We’re Looking For:
· Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent), with appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
· Proven leadership in cancer services and clinical excellence
· Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and quality care
· Experience in teaching, research, and service innovation
· Integrity, adaptability, and strong communication skills
